Summary of major points: |
The first meeting of ISO/IEC JTC1/WG4 in 1998 will be held at the offices of AIS Berger-Levrault in Paris, France. This meeting will be before the GCA conference "SGML/XML Europe '98" (Paris, France: see http://www.gca.org/conf/paris98/paris.htm). Hotel and travel information is enclosed. Please make hotel reservations before 31 March 1998. There will be sessons for the RGs for DSSSL, SGML, and Hypermedia at this meeting. This document also serves as the calling notice for those meetings. WG4 will also host a Workshop on Guidelines for Accessing SGML-encoded Data and Metadata from Databases, Knowledge Bases and Search Tools on 22 May, after the GCA Conference, at the conference hotel (Azuirte Room, 0900 h). Organizations intending to send representatives to this meeting should notify the WG4 Convenor by 1 May. Documents for this meeting should be sent to the Convenor in electronic (i.e., SGML/XML/HTML) form at least two weeks before the meeting so they can be posted on the WG4 Web Site. |

The editor expects much of the week to be devoted to SGML revision and completing another TC.
There may be a discussion of DSSSL revisions at this meeting.
The future of this project and related items should be discussed.
The amendment submitted in December and a proposed TC will be discussed.
The editor expects a discussion before submitting a Final CD.
The ballot on this project should have closed before the meeting; discussion of results is expected.
NOTE: Convenors of RGs should have documents which will be needed for the closing plenary ready for duplication at noon on Thursday and should be ready to indicate to the full working group at that time what items will be presented for decision (recommendations, liaison statements).
