As AFII liaison to both SC2 and SC18, and as a co-editor of the subject working draft document, I was asked by the August 1996 plenary of SC2 to communicate the document to the SC18 secretariat and the SC18/WG8 convenor for comments by their members. SC2 has assigned to JTC1 balloted work item to SC2/WG2 and approved the distribution of this working draft for comment. The anticipated schedule for progressing the work is: 1) Working draft comments by November 30th, 2) PDTR ballot during the spring of 1997, 3) DTR ballot during the fall of 1997, and 4) TR publication during summer of 1998.
